In a lightning offensive against crime, the National Police, through the Criminal Investigation Section (SIJIN), managed to dismantle key nodes of the criminal group “Los Turcos”, a structure that had been spreading fear in the capital of Norte de Santander.

The operations, carried out simultaneously in several strategic points, resulted in the capture of three men accused of coordinating and executing criminal actions in the region.

The main blow was dealt in communes 6 and 7 of Cúcuta, where the uniformed officers captured Yair Ricardo Jaimes, known as alias “Jonás.” According to the authorities, this subject served as the group’s criminal actions coordinator. At the time of his arrest, a firearm was seized from him and is being subjected to ballistics tests to determine its relationship with recent homicides.
