The Somos Belisario Business Group makes its official entry to Sushi Master, the largest gastronomic competition in Colombia organized by Tulio Recomienda. Through its Yacky Chan brand, the group seeks to conquer the palates of the Paisas and become a benchmark for sushi in the country with a risky and local proposal: the “Chicharoll”.

A commitment to the ‘Paisian’ identity

For its first participation in the contest, the brand has designed a scroll that tells the story of its flagship character: a “little country boy” that combines Japanese technique with Antioquia tradition.

“Chicharoll” is presented as a sensory experience that mixes the best of two worlds. Its base composition includes shrimp, Philadelphia cheese and avocado, but its true identity lies in the “toppings” and sauces that evoke the typical flavors of the region:

Topping: Ripe plantain and fried pork rinds.

Sauces: Guandolo gel and a panela jelly with guaro.

Commercial goal: With this culinary innovation, which will be available until November 30 at the El Tesoro and Provenza headquarters, the group projects the sale of 18,000 units in just six days.

Expansion strategy

Participation in the Sushi Master is not only a culinary event for Somos Belisario, but a strategic move. The objective is to make the creativity and craft of their brands visible to a massive audience, strengthening the local gastronomic industry. “Chicharoll” seeks to connect emotionally with diners by offering a bite that, according to its creators, “tastes like the street, the patch, and Antioquia,” positioning the group as an innovative leader in the sector.
