The Colombian Track Team is already in southern territory to face the Pan American Elite Track Championship, which will be held at the Peñalolén Velodrome, in Santiago, Chile.

From February 18 to 22, the national team will measure forces with the best exponents of the continent in the speed and semi-distance modalities.

Under the technical direction of John Jaime González, the delegation seeks to consolidate its regional dominance and continue adding vital points in the international ranking, maintaining the inertia of the Olympic cycle towards Los Angeles 2028.

The coffee roster is made up of 13 cyclists who combine the experience of established figures with the energy of new talents.

The speed block has world-class references such as Kevin Santiago Quintero, current Pan-American keirin champion, and the young star Stefany Cuadrado, world medalist.

Along with them, runners like Santiago Ramírez, Cristian Ortega and Juliana Gaviria will seek to impose their power on the Chilean wood.

On the semi-distance side, the experience of Juan Esteban Arango and Brayan Sánchez will join the debut in the elite category of Luciana Osorio, who arrives after a successful youth stage.

With its sights on Los Angeles 2028, the Colombian Cycling Team begins its assault on the continental podium

Action at the velodrome will begin this Wednesday with the team pursuit qualifications and the team sprint and women’s scratch finals.

The calendar will advance with intense days on Thursday and Friday, where titles in keirin, elimination and omnium will be defined.

During the weekend, the contest will reach its climax with the resolution of the sprint, kilometer and always spectacular Madison tests, closing on Sunday a program that demands the highest technical level and physical resistance from the competitors.

This commitment represents a challenge to overcome for the Colombian team, which in the previous edition of Los Angeles 2025 achieved a historic haul of 20 medals.

On that occasion, although Colombia was the country with the highest number of total medals, it was placed in third position in the general medal table.

In this new event in Santiago, the objective is to transform this volume of podiums into continental titles that will allow it to climb to the top of the general classification and ratify its status as a track cycling power in America.
