The Ministry of Labor has issued a precautionary measure to suspend work against the Pereira Sports Club.
This is due to serious and repeated breaches of labor legislation, as confirmed by the portfolio minister, Antonio Sanguino.
The decision arises following a complaint received in the month of July, which warned of various irregularities.
The irregularities included delays in the payment of service premiums, delays in the payment of salaries and non-recognition of Sunday and holiday surcharges.
Minister Sanguino stated that the preventive measure implies the suspension of work of the workers and contractors at the service of the club.
As indicated, the measure lasts until the payment of salaries and social security owed to them is verified and certified.
The Risaralda Territorial Directorate of the Ministry of Labor carried out an inspection of the club’s facilities, where it confirmed the delay in the payment of salaries, social benefits and social security contributions.

“With the inspection we have been able to verify that there are delays in salary payments and social security contributions,” confirmed Sanguino Páez.
The head of the labor portfolio emphasized that, while the investigation is developing, “the employment relationship of all workers must be maintained.”
According to him, this is regardless of the way they are hired, and that everyone must be paid their salaries without any type of discount.
The sports organization also faces an administrative sanctioning process by the Ministry of Sports for the same reasons of non-compliance in labor matters.
The Ministry of Labor has informed the Colombian Football Federation and the other clubs with whom Deportivo Pereira had sporting matches scheduled for the coming days of the administrative act.
