Minute30.com .- A security incident was recorded in Colombian airspace after an Avianca aircraft suffered a bird strike shortly after taking off from Guillermo León Valencia Airport in Popayán.

The Airbus A320, which had its final destination in Bogotá, was in the climb phase when the impact occurred. Following strict safety protocols, the commanding crew made the decision to divert the flight.

Safe and Uneventful Landing

The landing of the aircraft was carried out safely and without inconvenience for the passengers and crew at the Alfonso Bonilla Aragón International Airport in Cali.

The plane will be inspected to assess damage and ensure its airworthiness, while Avianca must relocate the passengers to complete their trip to Bogotá.
