The Mayor’s Office of Medellín, through the Ministry of Mobility, continues to strengthen its commitment to the protection of life on the roads through the “We Want You Alive” strategy, a pedagogical initiative that during 2025 managed to raise awareness among 219,605 people about the importance of self-care and respect for traffic rules.
According to the official balance, within the framework of this strategy, they developed 1,298 educational actions aimed at pedestrians, motorcyclists, public transport users, companies and the educational community, with the aim of preventing road accidents and promoting responsible behavior in everyday mobility.
One of the most relevant fronts was the educational sector, where 394 actions were carried out that impacted 40,696 people, including students, teachers and administrative staff.

These activities sought to strengthen a road culture in the classrooms based on respect for the rules and the prevention of traffic accidents.
In the business sector, the Ministry of Mobility carried out 157 awareness days, reaching 12,129 people through talks, workshops and pedagogical activities that promoted co-responsibility in daily travel, both as drivers, pedestrians and passengers.
Motorcyclists among the most injured
Motorcyclists, considered one of the most vulnerable actors on the city’s roads, were prioritized with 366 educational actions, which managed to raise awareness among 41,604 people.

These interventions were focused on the correct use of protective elements, respect for speed limits and the prevention of dangerous maneuvers.
Likewise, the Citizen Dialogue for Safe Mobility strategy developed 350 actions, impacting 123,530 people in spaces such as shopping centers, public transport stations and high-traffic areas, carrying clear messages about road coexistence and responsible use of public space.
As a complement, the Warning Course, in person, held 31 days with the participation of 1,136 people, who reflected on the infractions committed and received tools to transform risky behavior on the road.

According to the Secretary of Mobility, Pablo Ruiz, these actions are already showing positive results. In 2025, Medellín recorded a 10% reduction in deaths from road accidents compared to 2024, evidencing the impact of the control, prevention and pedagogy strategy, along with citizen commitment.
The Mayor’s Office reiterated its call for co-responsibility and recalled that road safety depends on all road actors.
