Minute30.com .- Néstor Gregorio Vera, alias “Iván Mordisco”, top leader of the dissidents of the Central General Staff (EMC) of the FARC, reappeared in a video recorded from the “mountains of Colombia” with a series of strong warnings. In a context of escalating violence and rejection of recent military operations, the narco-guerrilla leader launched direct threats to the National Government, the Military Forces and various media outlets.

The dissident leader’s most worrying statement focused on interference in the political scene. Mordisco stated that his group had tried, without success, to ensure that the 2026 electoral process “had as few traumas as possible.” However, in the face of what he described as a “warlike advance” by the State, he announced that his organization will assume a position of “defense of the territories” and of its own “political determinations”, suggesting a possible impact on the next elections.

The dissidents’ message also included a frontal rejection of military actions, particularly the bombings that have resulted in the death of combatants and recruited minors. The leader argued that Colombia “does not need reforms but structural changes,” and dismissed accusations of forced recruitment, ensuring that the “only forced recruitment” is the exclusion of opportunities for young people by the political system.

One of the most serious points of the reappearance was the explicit warning against journalists and media outlets. The guerrilla leader accused them, without presenting any evidence, of “receiving a salary from military intelligence.” Furthermore, he escalated the threat by stating that “the people or the FARC EP can sue them for their actions”, a veiled reference to the possible installation of illegal courts against civilians and press professionals.

In summary, the reappearance of “Iván Mordisco” in a video loaded with accusations and warnings underlines the tension between the Government and the EMC, putting public opinion on alert about the armed group’s intentions to influence the democratic process and intensify the war in the territories where they are present in view of the 2026 elections.
