What began as a family gathering in a home in the Santa Margarita neighborhood, in the commune of Robledo, ended in an emergency situation that left several people injured and one captured in flagrante delicto.
According to the information collected by the authorities, a man arrived in an altered attitude at the place where the meeting was taking place. In the midst of the festive atmosphere, his behavior escalated quickly and led to an attack with a knife against the attendees.
The attack left six people injured: five men and one woman, including an adult over 78 years old. The wounds were recorded in areas such as the neck, face, chest and extremities, which forced the immediate transfer of the victims to different healthcare centers in the city. Despite the seriousness of the incident, everyone is out of danger.

The police intervention occurred after an alert call to line 123. Upon arriving at the site, the uniformed officers controlled the situation and captured the alleged aggressor, who was placed at the disposal of the Attorney General’s Office for the respective judicial process.
The Metropolitan Police pointed out that these types of events are not isolated and are usually related to excessive alcohol consumption and lack of conflict management in family or social environments. During the night of December 24 alone, the authorities responded to more than 1,600 reports associated with fights and intolerance, some of them with fatal outcomes.
Given the increase in these episodes during the festivities, the authorities reiterated the call for self-control, dialogue and respect for life as mechanisms to prevent acts of violence that, in many cases, originate in avoidable arguments.
