The Colombian delegation had a masterful day at the XX Bolivarian Games Lima–Ayacucho 2025, closing on Friday with an impressive haul of 23 medals (7 gold, 8 silver and 8 bronze) that allowed it to consolidate its dominance in the general medal table.
With 68 golds, 59 silvers and 39 bronzes, Colombia has a total of 166 medals and maintains a solid advantage over its closest competitor, Venezuela (51 golds). The success of the day was distributed in key disciplines such as canoeing, water skiing, taekwondo, and billiards.
Speed Canoeing set the pace of the day by securing two Bolivarian titles. Manuela Gómez was the great figure, first by winning gold in the women’s C2 200 m with Madison Velásquez, and then repeating in the mixed C2 200 m with Alejandro Rodríguez.
In Nautical Skiing, Colombia was once again the protagonist: Santiago Correa took gold in men’s slalom, while Daniela Verswyvel was crowned champion in women’s figures and added silver in jumping. Pablo Alvira and Martina Piedrahita also contributed with multiple silver and bronze medals, respectively.
Taekwondo responded with Andrea Ramírez’s gold in the women’s –49 kg. Miguel Trejos (silver in –80 kg) and Angie Prieto (bronze in –57 kg) completed the outstanding performance on the tatami.

Precision sports also brought joy, with Johana Cristina Sandoval winning gold in the women’s individual three-cushion carom. In Diving, Miguel Esteban Tovar won the gold medal in individual 3m springboard, and then added a silver in synchronized with Leonardo García.
The day was also marked by the strength of the Colombian teams. In Artistic Gymnastics, the women’s team won valuable silver. In Fencing, the women’s epee and men’s team saber modalities achieved collective bronze medals.
To close the day in the best way, the Men’s Floor Volleyball debuted with a resounding 3-1 victory over Venezuela, injecting optimism for the final phase of the tournament.
With this performance, the Colombian delegation ratifies its competitive power and its undisputed leadership a few days before the closing of the 2025 Bolivarian Games.
