Under black curtains and extreme noise! They seal clandestine bar that operated as an alleged union

An inter-institutional operation in the Galerías neighborhood, in the town of Teusaquillo, ended with the temporary suspension of an establishment that presented itself as a “union,” but that in reality functioned as a bar and accumulated multiple complaints about noise and impacts on coexistence.

The intervention was carried out after repeated complaints from residents of the area, who claimed that the place generated constant disturbances at night. Upon entry, the authorities asked the administrators for documents proving their union nature, but they did not provide complete support to validate that activity.

Furthermore, the attendees consulted on the site stated that they did not belong to any union organization, did not have a card that would identify them as members, and recognized that the establishment had an alcoholic beverage menu and price list. These elements confirmed that it operated as a conventional bar.

Added to this is that the business had already been inspected in September by the Official Fire Department of Bogotá, which issued an unfavorable technical concept. During that visit, the absence of minimum safety elements was evident, such as emergency lighting, smoke detectors and an evacuation plan. In the new operation, the authorities once again confirmed that the place still did not comply with basic human security measures.

Another critical point detected was the lack of ventilation and visibility. The windows were completely covered with black boards and dark curtains, which represented a risk in case of emergency. The Police also checked the bathrooms, the inventory of liquor and searched the attendees.

Based on all these irregularities, the establishment was suspended for ten days in accordance with paragraph 16 of article 92 of the National Security and Coexistence Code, which sanctions economic activity without compliance with legal requirements.
