Two members of the ‘Jaime Martínez’ structure, a group linked to the FARC dissidents led by alias Iván Mordisco, decided to appear before the authorities to voluntarily submit to justice.

The operation, which involved the joint work of the Navy, the Army and the Aerospace Force, occurred after weeks of sustained offensives in this strategic sector where the community has reported constant risks due to the criminal presence.

At the time of their subjugation, the men did not arrive empty-handed; They delivered a high-powered arsenal that endangered the civilian population.

Among the seized material are 12 rifles, two pistols, more than 600 cartridges and two grenades. However, the most worrying thing for the authorities was the discovery of two bomb cylinders, each loaded with 50 kilos of explosives, along with 600 meters of detonating cord.

These devices, designed to cause mass destruction, were placed in the custody of explosives experts for neutralization.

For now, operations in the region are maintained to guarantee the safety of the inhabitants of López de Micay, who hope that this type of deliveries will reduce the intensity of the conflict in their territories.
