Ramírez Brothers: Two hearts with the same dream of Taekwondo that was born in the ‘School of Talents’
For siblings Daniel Jahir and Danna Isabella Ramírez Contreras, each step towards the tatami is a journey full of memories, discipline and the natural anxiety of someone who pursues a dream.
Both athletes, who recently represented the country at the World Taekwondo Championships in Wuxi, China, have built their successful careers on perseverance and a key opportunity in their beginnings: the Talent School.
The Ramírez’s path began with Daniel, whose passion for taekwondo was ignited after an invitation from friends. That same spark captivated Danna, who, motivated by her brother’s example, soon joined the sport.
Their mutual dedication and constant support led them to be nominated by their coaches for the Ministry of Sports project, a milestone that, according to Daniel, was decisive.
For Danna, the Talent School was not only a platform for growth, but also a source of inspiration, where she saw her national idols. Today, the role has been reversed, and it is they who inspire the new generations.
“With these spaces I realized that dreams come true if you persevere and fight for them. Now, being that example for these boys and girls feels very nice,” says Danna with a proud smile.
Consistency and an unbreakable mentality are the pillars that the brothers highlight to face the tests of high-performance sport.
