The Local Mayor’s Office of Tunjuelito closed 2025 with a sustained offensive against illegal occupation and the accumulation of garbage, managing to intervene more than 7,000 square meters of public space in the town, with the aim of improving coexistence, protecting the urban environment and returning decent spaces to the community.
The actions included environmental operations, clearing of cambuches and cleaning days, in coordination with the community and district entities. According to the Environmental Area of the Mayor’s Office, 5,564 m² were recovered through 34 Inspection, Surveillance and Control (IVC) operations, removing 136 unconventional structures that generated environmental impacts, insecurity and accumulation of waste.
In addition, 457 operations were carried out during the year, of which 107 focused directly on public spaces and 111 on environmental issues. These actions made it possible to recover an additional 1,570 m², carry out 934 awareness campaigns and act in areas affected by improper occupation, irregular parking and inadequate garbage disposal.

In addition, 38 cleaning and beautification days were held, aimed at improving deteriorated areas and promoting citizen co-responsibility in caring for the environment.

In terms of infrastructure, progress was made in technical designs of four parks, comprehensive maintenance of eight recreational settings, intervention of 1.2 kilometers of local roads and additional works for 1.5 kilometers, in addition to recovering 1,700 m² of public space.
Security and coexistence were also reinforced with mixed patrols made up of the Bogotá Police, the Thirteenth Brigade of the Army and the Local Mayor’s Office, which maintained a presence in more than 18 nearby parks. These actions contributed to the reduction of crimes such as theft from people, commerce, residences and cell phones, as well as the reduction of personal injuries in the town.
The recovery of public space focused on returning safer, orderly and dignified places to citizens, consolidating Tunjuelito as a town with better maintained public spaces during 2025.
