The Colombian delegation added three important bronze medals in the women’s wrestling day of the XX Bolivarian Games Ayacucho–Lima 2025.
Despite not reaching the finals, the national fighters exhibited notable dedication, technique and character in a high-level competition, characterized by intensity and close duels.
The first joy of the day was delivered by Andrea González in the 57 kilogram category. González secured the bronze after a demanding key.
The athlete demonstrated great defensive solidity and impressive physical strength throughout the entire day. His medal marked the beginning of the harvest of metals for the wrestling team.
Later, the joy was doubled with the outstanding performance of Katherine Rentería, who won bronze in the 62 kg.

Rentería remained firm in each of his fights, managing to win the crucial duel for the podium and confirming his experience and potential within the national team.
Finally, in the heaviest division of the day, 76 kg, Olympic medalist Tatiana Rentería shined again, cementing her position as one of the country’s strongest fighters.
With determination and impeccable control in the repechage, Renteria secured the third and final bronze medal of the day.
The Colombian presence in wrestling closes this Tuesday with the men’s competition, where it is expected that the team will continue adding medals to the medal table.
