Colombia has taken the lead in the medal table of the XX Bolivarian Games Ayacucho – Lima 2025 after a spectacular second day of competitions.
This achievement, following activity in key disciplines such as weightlifting, BMX Freestyle, swimming, squash, shooting sports, fencing, E-Sports and wrestling.
Thus, the national delegation accumulates a total of 27 gold medals, consolidating itself at the top of the Bolivarian competitions.
Weightlifting was a fundamental pillar in the climb to leadership, contributing eight golds, three silvers and one bronze. The Olympic medalists Yeison López and Mari Leivis Sánchez, along with Yenny Sinisterra and Julieth Rodríguez, were proclaimed absolute Bolivarian champions.
In BMX Freestyle, the day was also outstanding: Queen Saray Villegas and Luis Rincón won the champion titles, adding silver to Sebastián Cuéllar and bronze to Lizsurley Villegas to close the participation in this discipline.
The Aquatic Center pool was dyed tricolor thanks to a fruitful day of swimming, which added four golds, five silvers and three bronzes. The gold went to Anthony Rincón, Laura Melo, Jasmin Pistelli, and the two $4\times100$ meter combined relays.
For his part, Olympic fencer John Édison Rodríguez (Rio 2016 and Paris 2024) shone by winning the gold medal in the men’s individual epee category.
Tricolor gold! Colombia leads the Bolivarian Games
Colombian marksmanship was felt in sports shooting, where Juana Rueda revalidated her Bolivarian title in air pistol. In squash, Laura Tovar won gold in singles, while Lucía Bautista and Ronald Palomino won silver.
E-Sports said goodbye to the Games with a silver medal in Dota2 (with the team composed of Andrés Robayo, Juan David Sandoval, Nicolás Aldana, Leonardo Arturo Sáenz and Juan David Quintero) and a bronze in eFootball by Ángel Felipe García.
In wrestling, Colombia added three bronzes thanks to Andrea González (57 kg.), Katherine Rentería (62 kg.) and Tatiana Rentería (76 kg.), raising the total for the discipline to six medals (one gold, two silver and three bronze).
Meanwhile, in archery, several athletes such as Jorge Enríquez, Santiago Arcila, Isabella Forero and María Sepúlveda (recurve), along with Daniel Muñoz, Pablo Gómez, Alejandra Usquiano and Mariana Rodríguez (compound), advanced to the semifinals.
Finally, in sailing, Simón Gómez is partially in second place in sunfish and Andrey Quintero is third in Ilca 7 after the first races.
