Minute30.com .- Although the figure is not yet official, the manager of TransMilenio, María Fernanda Ortiz, confirmed that the possible increase in the fare of the transportation system in Bogotá will be discussed starting this November 25 within the budget project for 2026.

The proposal included by the administration of Mayor Carlos Fernando Galán in the District Budget Project, presented to the Bogotá Council, contemplates an adjustment of $250 pesos. If approved, this would raise the current fare from $3,200 to $3,450 per trip, which represents an increase of 7.8%.

This possible adjustment, explained the manager, responds to three main factors: the constant increase in the system’s operational costs, the imminent increase in the minimum wage in 2026 and the increase in the value of the energy used by vehicles.

It is important to remember that the TransMilenio rate was unified at $3,200 for all services (trunk, zone and TransMiCable) on January 18, 2025. In addition, in the last year the free transfer time was extended to 125 minutes and subsidies were implemented for older adults and people with disabilities.
