A family outing ended in tragedy in the rural area of ​​Palmira, Valle del Cauca, after a four-year-old girl lost her life after suffering an accident while participating in a recreational activity offered by a country establishment.

The incident occurred over the weekend in a restaurant located in a district of this municipality, where the minor had arrived with her parents. At the site, the girl agreed to ride a horse, an activity that was part of the site’s recreational offering and was accompanied by a worker in charge.

According to preliminary information collected by the authorities, during the ride the horse had an unexpected reaction that caused the minor to fall to the ground. The impact caused serious injuries that led to his death, despite attempts to help by family members and establishment staff.

The National Police confirmed that the case is being handled by the Criminal Investigation Section, which is carrying out the necessary procedures to establish precisely how the events occurred and whether adequate security conditions existed for this type of activities, especially when they involve minors.

While the investigations progress, the authorities reiterated the call to take extreme care and safety protocols in tourist and recreational spaces that include interaction with animals, in order to prevent events that could put the lives of visitors at risk.
