The evidentiary material compiled by the Attorney General’s Office allowed the prosecution of Hanner Moisés Rincones Miranda, a doctor who allegedly performed clandestine surgery to extract narcotics on a 38-year-old woman, which caused her death.
The events occurred on October 28, 2024 in a building in the center of Medellín (Antioquia), which would have been equipped by Rincones Miranda and two other people with medical supplies and equipment to perform the procedure on the victim.
According to the information collected in the course of the investigation, the doctors initially tried to extract the narcotic through his private parts, but when they failed, they made an incision in his abdomen that compromised several veins and caused a hemorrhagic shock that led to his death.

When the patient presented health complications, they fled the scene, leaving her abandoned and without giving any explanation to her family. When the companion entered the office, the woman was convulsing and it was not possible to transport her to a healthcare center.

According to the expert opinion, the victim had 643 grams of cocaine and marijuana inside his body.
A prosecutor from the Medellín Section charged him with the crimes of aggravated homicide and trafficking, manufacture or possession of narcotics as an accomplice. The defendant did not accept charges and must comply with a security measure in a prison.
