The Metropolitan Police of Santiago de Cali confirmed the dismantling of the criminal structure known as ‘los Mojosos’, accused of being behind multiple cases of motorcycle theft in Cali, especially in northern sectors of the city.
The operation left five people linked to the judicial process, including a minor. According to the authorities, the investigation lasted several months and made it possible to identify the group’s mode of operation, which specialized in the theft of high-displacement motorcycles.
The captures materialized through six search procedures carried out simultaneously in the Los Mangos, Petecuy, El Rodeo and SiloƩ neighborhoods.
The commander of the Cali Metropolitan Police, Brigadier General Edwin Urrego, explained that four of those involved were captured (three by court order and one in flagrante delicto), while a minor was apprehended.
Among those arrested is alias ‘El Negro’, who has a record of different crimes, including homicide.
According to the official report, the gang selected their victims in strategic areas in the north of Cali, where they intercepted motorcyclists while they were waiting for traffic lights or traveling along main roads. Under intimidation with firearms, they stripped people of their vehicles in a matter of minutes.

Subsequently, the motorcycles were moved to hillside sectors, where the satellite tracking systems were removed. Later, they altered the identification systems and offered them on social networks at prices well below the commercial value.
During the operations, authorities seized cell phones used to coordinate the thefts, false documentation, and recovered a motorcycle reported stolen last September.
Those captured were sent to prison for the crimes of qualified and aggravated robbery and illegal possession of firearms. None accepted charges.
The Police reiterated the call to citizens to report any incident related to the theft of motorcycles in Cali, remembering that lines 321 394 5156, 123 and the Cooperators Network are enabled, with total confidentiality.
