The Bogotá Metropolitan Police, through the Transmilenio Mass Transportation Group, managed to capture in flagrante delicto three men accused of forming the gang known as “Los Topos”, dedicated to the theft of infrastructure wiring in the system. The events were recorded at the Calle 45 station, in the town of Chapinero.

The police action was triggered after the radio station alerted about strange noises coming from beneath the station during the night. With the support of Transmilenio infrastructure personnel, the uniformed officers checked the area and lifted the plates, finding a large amount of cut cable and various tools.

During the reaction, the agents observed the three men trying to hide in the rubble with bags. When they were caught in flagrante delicto, 100 meters of rubberized copper cable were recovered, valued at 20 million pesos.

Those captured were placed at the disposal of the competent authority. The Metropolitan Police highlighted that, so far in 2025, 829 people have been captured for different crimes within the system, of which 18 have been for the theft of fiber optics, managing to recover 420 meters of cable.
