In search and seizure procedures carried out in properties in Cali (Valle del Cauca), Medellín (Antioquia) and Barranquilla (Atlántico), three of those identified as involved in the criminal network were captured. Additionally, electronic devices containing audiovisual records that report sexual abuse and other attacks against the integrity and sexual formation of children and adolescents were seized.
Prosecutors from the Special Investigation Unit for Crimes against Children and Adolescents (UENNA) presented the three detainees before a criminal judge for guarantee control and charged them with the crime of pornography with a minor under 18 years of age.
The defendants, identified as Óscar Luis Espejo Vanegas, Darwin Steven Lara and Juan José Silva Vásquez, did not accept the charges and must comply with a security measure in a prison.
Simultaneously with the judicial results obtained in Colombia, the police forces of Brazil, Ecuador, Spain, Honduras and Paraguay managed to capture another 11 members of the network in their countries.
