The Attorney General’s Office assumed as a priority the investigations related to alleged cases of sexual harassment in workplace matters within the Jaime Isaza Cadavid Colombian Polytechnic, after the serious disturbances recorded on December 9, when hooded men set fire to one of the institution’s administrative offices.
According to the Public Ministry, the decision was made after applying the preferential power contemplated in Circular 06 of 2025, with the aim of reviewing possible irregularities in the way in which the university would have processed complaints for sexual harassment and workplace harassment, which, according to the student body, had been presented for several years without a timely response.

The control entity indicated that it will investigate whether the university authorities made omissions or unjustified delays in response to these complaints, which would have generated an environment of disagreement that led to the violent events that are today the subject of a criminal investigation.
Although the acts of vandalism continue to be analyzed by the judicial authorities, the Attorney General’s Office confirmed that within the institution there is already a disciplinary process with a first-instance ruling related to these events, which will be evaluated again by the agency to guarantee impartiality and transparency.
Meanwhile, the Mayor’s Office of MedellĂn and the Government of Antioquia strongly rejected the fire that occurred on the university campus and announced a reward of up to $100 million pesos for information that allows the identification and capture of the nearly 20 alleged perpetrators of these acts.
