Colombian goalkeeper Kevin Mier, current Cruz Azul figure, is involved in a legal scandal in Mexico after being sued by the owner of an apartment he occupied.

The situation has escalated quickly, putting the player in an uncomfortable position in front of public opinion and his club.

The lawsuit, which was filed at the Cruz Azul offices on November 13, details a series of serious accusations that include financial debts and significant material damage to the property.

The main complaint against Mier is the alleged million-dollar debt that he left after vacating the apartment.

Added to this is non-compliance with the rental contract, specifically due to early termination, which entails a stipulated fine.

However, the accusations do not end with the economic aspect. The owner of the property also points out that the footballer would have taken elements from the original inventory.

Among those items would be appliances and a microwave oven, and it would have left several parts of the apartment in poor condition.

The reported damage affects multiple areas of the property, including the pool, closets, bedrooms and various common areas.

The plaintiff maintains that the deterioration is considerable and requires repairs that increase the amount of the claim.

The chain of problems, according to the owner’s version, began after an incident involving one of Mier’s collaborators, who is accused of having stolen some tennis shoes.

This event would have motivated the goalkeeper to make the decision not to return to the apartment, triggering the subsequent litigation.

The affected woman reported that, at first, it was impossible for her to directly notify the player about the irregularities and the debt.

Given the lack of response or contact from Mier, he decided to take the legal action directly to Cruz Azul where the Colombian plays.

This off-sports scandal puts goalkeeper Kevin Mier under intense scrutiny. The Cruz Azul board must now deal with the implications of a civil lawsuit that affects the image of its team.
