The authorities dismantled ‘Los Perseo’ in Bogotá, a criminal group that allegedly sold narcotics mixed with gasoline to enhance their effects in areas frequented by minors.
The criminal structure operated in the town of Suba, where it distributed marijuana and cocaine impregnated with hydrocarbons in areas with a high presence of children and adolescents, specifically in the Miramar and La Toscana parks.
According to the joint investigation between the Attorney General’s Office and the Bogotá Metropolitan Police, the organization sold adulterated substances a few meters from two preschool educational institutions, putting the child population in the sector at risk.
The work of the judicial police, which included telephone interceptions and covert surveillance, made it possible to identify the criminal structure and capture 12 of its members in a coordinated operation.

According to the Prosecutor’s Office, ‘Los Perseo’ maintained an organized drug dealing scheme that included storage, transportation, dosing and marketing of drugs adulterated with gasoline. The mixture with hydrocarbons sought to intensify the effects of psychoactive substances on consumers.
A prosecutor attached to the Support Structure of the Bogotá Section charged those captured with the crimes of aggravated conspiracy to commit a crime, aggravated trafficking, manufacturing or carrying of narcotics, and manufacturing, trafficking or carrying of firearms, accessories or ammunition.
Those involved did not accept the charges formulated by the Prosecutor’s Office. However, a guarantee control judge ordered a security measure in prison for all those captured while the judicial process against them progresses.
