A routine operation ended with the capture of Diego Sinisterra, a man wanted internationally and wanted by Colombian justice for aggravated homicide and illegal possession of weapons. The arrest occurred in the municipality of Caldas, south of the Aburrá Valley, when Transit and Transportation units were carrying out verifications on the La Pintada – Medellín road, near the El Remanso sector.

According to the official report, Sinisterra was traveling from Manizales to Medellín in a private vehicle. During the background check through the APPOL application, the uniformed officers detected an active blue notification from Interpol and a current requirement issued by the Chinchiná Sectional Prosecutor’s Office, in the department of Caldas.

“The system confirmed the judicial request, so his capture was immediately carried out under the established protocols,” reported Colonel Óscar Mauricio Rico Guzmán, commander of the Antioquia Police Department. After the verification, personnel from the Criminal Investigation Section accompanied the procedure to guarantee the correct documentation of the urgent acts.

The detainee was later transferred to the authority that requested it, while the corresponding judicial procedures progress.

The Police highlighted that this result occurred thanks to permanent controls in strategic corridors of the department, with which they seek to identify people linked to serious crimes or who try to evade the action of justice by moving between cities.
