A forceful joint capture between the Mayor’s Office of Medellín, the Metropolitan Police of the Aburrá Valley and the Attorney General’s Office made it possible to dismantle an important link of the GDCO La Raya.
Alias ’Chucho’, the noted coordinator of drug trafficking of this criminal group and who had been moving illicit income from the Cristo Rey sector for more than 15 years, fell into the operation.
The intervention was carried out through three search and seizure procedures at strategic points previously georeferenced, where ten arrest warrants were also issued on public roads.
In total, 13 people were arrested and placed at the disposal of the authorities for the crimes of drug trafficking and aggravated conspiracy to commit a crime.
During the procedure, the authorities seized 780 grams of marijuana, two cell phones and items used for drug dosage.

Investigations indicate that alias Chucho managed the dosage, storage and distribution of illicit substances for the criminal economies of the GDCO Plaza Cristo Rey, a structure that obtained nearly $45 million in illegal income monthly.
To avoid being located, the captured man constantly changed residence and used front houses, which made intelligence work difficult. However, the joint operation allowed him to be located and detained simultaneously with other members of the organization.
Alias Chucho would have held command roles for more than a decade, controlling stores, participating in territorial disputes and allegedly ordering threats and extortion to maintain dominance in micro-trafficking corridors.
