The city of Cali is once again the scene of an unacceptable act of violence against a traffic officer.
The official suffered a fractured septum and multiple blows to the face after being brutally attacked by a motorcyclist who was going to be summoned.
The incident occurred when the agent summoned the motorcyclist for traveling illegally on the bike lane and for not having the vehicle’s documents.
Upon realizing that he would be fined for his infractions, the citizen reacted violently, attacking the public servant.
Minutes after the beating, the Police intervened, capturing the aggressor, who will now face charges of assault against a public servant.
The traffic agent, whose identity was not revealed, received medical attention for the serious injuries suffered.

They beat him to death! Cali rejects brutal aggression against a traffic agent
Through an official statement, the Cali Mobility Secretariat categorically condemned the incident, pointing it out as a reflection of the behavior of some citizens who “insist on breaking traffic rules and who, in the face of legitimate action by the authority, resort to violent actions.”
“Violence will never be the way and is not acceptable under any circumstances. Our agents work daily to protect life on the streets and ensure that all citizens can move safely,” the statement says.
This incident highlights a worrying trend in the city. According to the data cited, so far in 2025, 67 attacks against traffic officers have been reported in Cali, a figure significantly higher than that recorded in 2024.
The Ministry of Mobility called on citizens to comply with the rules, keep their documentation up to date and act with respect towards authority, remembering that the construction of safe mobility is a co-responsibility between the community and the authorities.
