Through his official channels, the mayor of Medellín, Fico Gutiérrez, made public the video that records the exact moment of the violent confrontation that occurred on the night of February 10 in the Campo Valdés neighborhood of Aranjuez. The president used the images to support the actions of the National Police and send a strong message against crime in the city.

According to what was stated by the mayor and the judicial reports, the incident was triggered when a quadrant patrol intercepted a black motorcycle with license plates GYE-05H on Carrera 47 and Calle 69. The images show how, after the order to stop, the grillman pulled out a revolver and immediately shot at the two uniformed officers, hitting one of them in the face.

“Our police officers reacted immediately and bravely. They managed to neutralize the aggressor and capture the driver of the motorcycle, thanks to citizen support,” Gutiérrez highlighted in his statement.

The official balance confirms the neutralization of the aggressor (who died at the scene) and the capture of Diego Alejandro ZA, 19 years old, who was driving the vehicle. In addition, the mayor reported that in the procedure the following were seized:
