Two night establishments were suspended during an advance control operation in the town of Suba, as part of a mega takeover led by the Bogotá Metropolitan Police and the District Secretariat of Security, Coexistence and Justice.
The intervention was carried out in the Rincón sector, after repeated complaints from the community due to impacts on coexistence, especially related to excessive noise and non-compliance with current regulations by some establishments open to the public.
According to the authorities, one of the bars intervened played music at a volume much higher than permitted, even in the early hours of the morning. Neighbors in the area had repeatedly reported that the noise prevented rest and disturbed the tranquility of the neighborhood. During the inspection, the uniformed officers verified that the sound was perceived outside the premises and throughout the entire block, which led to the immediate suspension of the establishment.

The second closure occurred after it became evident that the place did not have the legal documentation required to operate. Among the irregularities detected was the absence of mandatory permits, which is why the authorities ordered the establishment to be sealed until the requirements required by law are met.

The megatakeover did not only focus on controls on commercial establishments. In the surroundings of the Suba TransMilenio Portal, preventive actions were deployed to strengthen citizen security. There, a ‘wasp plan’ was developed at traffic lights and strategic points, in which more than 150 people were searched and verified, with the aim of preventing thefts and other crimes.
