In a quick police reaction, uniformed CAI Modelo, in the north of Bogotá, captured a 22-year-old man accused of participating in the theft of a vehicle in the Barrios Unidos sector.

The incident occurred when the victim arrived at his home and was intercepted by a car with several occupants who, through the use of firearms, stripped him of his truck.

Thanks to the immediate deployment of the padlock plan, the authorities managed to locate and follow the vehicles reported by the citizen. Minutes later, one of them was intercepted in the Modelo Norte neighborhood, where the uniformed officers captured the alleged criminal in flagrante delicto.

During the procedure, the Police recovered the stolen vehicle and seized a firearm, which together with the captured person was placed at the disposal of the competent authority for prosecution.

The Bogotá Metropolitan Police reiterated its commitment to security and citizen coexistence, highlighting that, so far in 2025, 929 vehicles have been recovered and 1,385 firearms seized, as part of the actions to combat crime in the capital.

The authorities reminded citizens of the importance of reporting any criminal act or situation that affects coexistence through Emergency Line 123, since this information is key to strengthening investigative processes and the fight against crime in Bogotá.
