Colombia is already preparing to experience a new event with winter sports at the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Games.

In this edition, the country will be represented by Fredrik Fodstad, who will carry the tricolor flag as the only national competitor.

The Bogotá skier’s participation will officially begin this Friday, February 6, with the Opening Ceremony, an event that will take place at 2:00 pm (Colombian time) and will feature narration by renowned journalist Alberto Lati.

Fodstad’s sporting debut will take place on Sunday, February 8 in the demanding 10 km + 10 km Skiathlon event.

This competition, which combines classic and free techniques, will start at 6:30 am (Colombian time) and will be held at the Tesero Cross Country Ski Stadium, in Val di Fiemme.

Two days later, on Tuesday, February 10, the athlete will return to the track for the classic sprint classification at 3:55 am, seeking to advance in one of the most explosive modalities of the discipline.

The Colombian’s calendar will continue on Friday, February 13 at 5:45 am with the free start test for 10 km intervals, a challenge of high resistance and technique.

Finally, Fodstad will close its participation on Saturday, February 21 at 5:00 am (according to the updated official schedule) in the queen of cross-country skiing: the classic 50 km mass start, considered the snow marathon.

During all competitions, the athlete will be assisted by his coach and an official delegate of the Colombian Olympic Committee.

Fredrik Fodstad’s story is as unique as his talent. Born in Bogotá on January 7, 2001, he was adopted a few months later by a Norwegian family, a country where he grew up and developed his passion for cross-country skiing in the municipality of Eidsvoll.

His election to represent Colombia is the result of his outstanding international results, allowing the country to maintain its presence in the winter competitions for the third consecutive time.

Fans in Colombia will be able to follow every detail of Fodstad’s performance through Claro Sports’ multiplatform.

The live broadcast will be available on Claro’s pay TV channels, as well as on its official YouTube channel, the Claro Video application and the official website.

This coverage will allow Colombians to closely follow the efforts of an athlete who, despite his training in Europe, competes with his heart set on his roots.
