Tolls in Colombia start 2026 with a new adjustment that is already generating concern among drivers and transporters. Starting January 16, rates on several concessioned roads in the country will increase by around 5%, an increase that will directly impact road transportation costs.

The adjustment is made based on the annual variation of the Consumer Price Index (CPI) and was confirmed by national authorities as part of the regular rate update scheme.

With this increase, some tolls will reach values ​​that exceed $27,000 pesos, placing them among the most expensive in the national territory.

Among the corridors that register the highest charges are strategic connecting sections between key regions, especially on high-demand roads to the east and northwest of the country.

One of the points that draws the most attention is a toll located on the Llano road, which is consolidated as the most expensive in Colombia, after an increase of more than 1,300 pesos compared to the previous year’s rate.

The most expensive tolls will be like this:

• Pipiral (via Villavicencio): $27,746
• Eastern Tunnel (Antioquia): $26,275
• Cisneros: $25,855
• Boring: $25,336
• Guaico (San Cristobal): $25,014

The Ministry of Transportation reiterated that toll collection is used for road maintenance, emergency response, signage, road safety and support services such as tow trucks, ambulances and car-workshops. However, the increase continues to generate discontent among citizens who claim that the cost of traveling by road is increasingly higher.

A round trip through some national corridors can represent more than 50,000 pesos in tolls alone, without counting additional expenses such as fuel, food or mechanical unforeseen events.

Faced with this scenario, many drivers have chosen to plan their trips in greater detail, evaluate alternative routes or reduce the frequency of their trips.
