“At the secretariat we have received requests from the community, in which they report trees with branches about to fall or trees that are old, and that need intervention; also in this rainy season many trees have fallen, that is why we undertook this maintenance work with the help of Emas. We hope to reach all the areas that need it,” explains the Secretary of the Environment, Jessica Silvana Quiroz Hernándes.

The official adds that reports about trees that represent danger can be sent by email to contacto@manizales.gov.co; it is necessary to detail the exact address and, if possible, attach a photo of the tree in question; The information is crucial to evaluate the situation, carry out a technical visit and coordinate the necessary actions with Emas effectively.

Those who wish to request a review of trees in their area can do so by email contacto@manizales.gov.co or at the offices of the Ministry of the Environment, located on the seventh floor of the Leonidas Londoño building.

The Mayor’s Office reported that tree pruning and maintenance, as well as spraying, can only be done if the dangers they pose are in public space.
