Prosecutor Lucy Laborde, in charge of the Nicolás Petro case, surprised on the morning of this Tuesday, December 2, by asking the guarantee control judge to send the son of the President of the Republic to jail.
The procedure is taking place in the 14th Municipal Criminal Court for Control of Guarantees of Barranquilla and in it, which is still being carried out, the petition is key.
In the opinion of the judicial official, Nicolás Petro would be linked in a related network between the Social Conscience Foundation and the Government of Atlántico.
Laborde supported his request based on the argument that Petro knew that he was carrying out allegedly illegal conduct.
But it was not only that, the Prosecutor highlighted a right of petition sent by Petro to the Prosecutor’s Office requesting information about a criminal news that, at that time, Nicolás had no reason to know.
This situation would have made it clear that, apparently, the president’s son was accessing privileged and confidential information, which set off the alarms of the investigating entity.
