Minute30.com .- In the last few hours, the authorities have managed to identify one of the two men who lost their lives inside a vehicle due to an explosion on the Medellín-Bogotá Highway. The tragic event occurred at kilometer 7+100, specifically at the height of the El Convento village, in the municipality of Copacabana, Antioquia.

Identity of one of the Victims

One of the fatalities has been identified as Christian Jairo Barreto Carvajal, 37 years old. It was learned that Barreto Carvajal is a native of Cúcuta and has an ID in Bogotá.

The identity of the second deceased occupant is still unknown; It is estimated that he was a man between 30 and 35 years old.

Confession before dying

After the explosion, the Aburrá Valley Metropolitan Police (MEVAL) confirmed the discovery of weapons and ammunition in the vehicle.

The Commander of the MEVAL Police, Brigadier General William Castaño Ramos, confirmed that one of the individuals managed to make a crucial statement to the uniformed officers before dying.

According to General Castaño, this person stated that “he was carrying the grenade, weapons and ammunition destined for the city of Bogotá to be delivered there.”

The two occupants of the vehicle died at the scene due to the violent detonation of the grenade.

The explosion also affected two police officers who were near the car. The uniformed officers were slightly injured and were taken to a hospital to receive medical attention.
