Five men were captured in flagrante delicto by the Bogotá Police in the San Benito sector, town of Tunjuelito, accused of being involved in the trafficking and sale of narcotics on public roads. The operation was part of the Bogotá Camina Segura comprehensive security strategy and was achieved thanks to the use of a drone that detected the illicit activity from the air.
According to the authorities, surveillance and control efforts made it possible to identify behaviors allegedly associated with the sale of drugs in public. Immediately, police units moved to the scene and captured the five men.
During the procedure, 109 doses of marijuana, 146 doses of coca base and cash were seized, presumably the product of the illicit activity.
Major Ibrian Cuero, commander of the Tunjuelito Station, highlighted that these actions have a direct impact on the protection of the community:

According to the investigations, those captured would be part of a criminal group dedicated to the trafficking and sale of psychoactive substances, with a presence in the La Playa sector, town of Ciudad Bolívar. In addition, three of them have records for similar crimes.
The five men were left at the disposal of the Attorney General’s Office, which is carrying out the corresponding judicial proceedings. The Police reminded citizens of the importance of reporting any criminal act or act contrary to coexistence through the emergency line 123, as a key tool in the fight against crime.
