With the phrase “the cuchas were right”, different left-wing groups have transmitted a message in support of the mothers of Soacha for the false positives that many of them experienced two decades ago. However, the support remained only in words, since they had the opportunity to give them a voice in Congress and they ignored them.
The vote on the Historical Pact left several conclusions, however, here we will only talk about one.
In different cities, demonstrations have occurred, even with violence, because some administrations have erased the murals that said “the cuchas were right”, talking about false positives. There have even been different marches and symbolic events to support the mothers of Soacha and all those who have lost a child due to State violence.

However, to the surprise of many, when it came time to give them a say, they did not appear. To give an example, Jacqueline Castillo, one of the most visible faces of the mothers, received only 6,521 votes, which leaves her with no options to reach Congress. Does the left use its pain to make politics, but does not support it to reach the Senate?
Parallel to this situation, the Senate list is led by influencers like Wally, who got 137,821 votes. Even if you look at the Chambers, there are influencers with more votes than the mothers of Soacha, with the difference that they could only vote for them in one region and for the mothers in the entire country.
Laura Daniela Beltrán, known as Lalis, who had controversial contracts with the Petro government (including a very expensive trip to Asia), obtained more than 26,000 votes in Bogotá alone.
In Antioquia, for example, Hernán Muriel, a renowned social media activist, got 41,000 votes.
In the end, it seems that the cuchas were not right.
“The cuchas are NOT right”: the left turned its back on the mothers of Soacha for supporting influencers
Being a worthy Colombian political influencer would have meant not participating with his candidacy and rather moving his entire community to support upright beings like Aida Avella or Jacqueline Castillo.
But bad to talk.
