The department of Cundinamarca will become the epicenter of Colombian cycling from February 5 to 8, when it receives the 2026 National Road Championships.
Organized by the Colombian Cycling Federation, this event will bring together the country’s top figures in the youth, sub-23 and elite categories, both in the female and male branches, promising a high-level exhibition on the roads of the highlands.
The action will begin on Thursday, February 5 in Zipaquirá with the individual time trial tests.
The day will open with the junior ladies on a 13.2 km route, followed by the 26.1 km routes for under-23 ladies, elite and junior men.
The closing of this first day will be in charge of the under-23 and elite men, who will face a demanding 44 km circuit that will test their power and aerodynamics.
From Alto del Sisga to glory in Zipaquirá: the countdown to the National Route has begun
On Friday, February 6, the adrenaline will move to the Tocancipá Autodrome. On a closed circuit of 2.7 kilometers per lap, the junior ladies will complete 25 laps (67.5 km), while the U-23 women’s and junior men’s categories will increase the intensity to reach 30 laps, for a total of 81 kilometers of technical and fast competition.
For the weekend, the contest will enter its background phase. On Saturday, February 7, the U-23 men and elite women will depart from Sopó on a 124.5 kilometer route that will cross municipalities such as Gachancipá and Chocontá, ascending to Alto del Sisga before ending in Guasca park.
This stage will be key for climbers and strategists looking for the tricolor jersey.
The grand finale will take place on Sunday, February 8, with the elite men’s queen event. The cyclists will face a 209.9 kilometer route with start and finish at the emblematic Mirador de las Salinas de Zipaquirá.
The route, which includes passes through the Neusa and Cogua, as well as a final urban circuit with an uphill finish, is designed to crown a complete runner who combines resistance and explosiveness.
