The Panam Sports Safe Sports Commission held its first in-person meeting in Miami, with the participation of the general secretary of the Colombian Olympic Committee (COC), Ana Edurne Camacho Corredor.
The primary objective of the meeting was to define the action plan that will guide the Commission’s efforts in the coming years, and reaffirm the commitment to creating safe environments for athletes, coaches and leaders of the Olympic movement.
The Commission was formed in March 2025 and has worked on projects and activations throughout the year, including initiatives during the II Junior Pan American Games in Asunción 2025, this was the first time its members gathered physically.
During the work day, participants shared perspectives, identified the strengths and weaknesses of Safe Sport in the current context of Olympic Committees and sporting events, and laid the foundations for a solid future strategy.

For her part, the general secretary of Panam Sports, Jimena Saldaña, emphasized that “safe sport has to be a right of all those who are in the Olympic movement.”
He stressed that the key to prevention lies in training and education, valuing the Commission’s commitment to bringing these resources to the member countries of Panam Sports.
The presence of Ana Edurne Camacho Corredor at the working table reinforces the commitment of the Colombian Olympic Committee in the implementation of safe sports policies and environments at the continental level.
