Colombia firmly maintained the leadership of the XX Bolivarian Games Ayacucho – Lima 2025 by closing the third official day of competitions with a total of 37 gold medals.

An outstanding day in key disciplines such as weightlifting, swimming, wrestling and fencing allowed the national delegation to maintain the top of the medal table, demonstrating the quality and dominance of its athletes on the continental stage.

Colombian weightlifting said goodbye in the best way, consolidating itself as absolute champion of the discipline.

In the closing, six golds and two silvers were added, thanks to the stellar performances of Yeinny Geles, Rafael Cerro, Yairan Tysforod and Marcos Bonilla.

The final balance for the country in this discipline was overwhelming: 17 gold, 10 silver and two bronze, cementing a crucial advantage at the start of the games.

Swimming, racing and wrestling also contributed to the golden flow. In the pool, Stefanía Gómez, Jasmin Pistelli and the women’s 4×100 freestyle relay rose to the top of the podium, adding a total of three golds.

For its part, the fight concluded its participation with Elkin España (57 kg.) winning the gold and Carlos Izquierdo (97 kg.) the silver, closing a balance of eight medals.

Fencing added two bronzes with Samuel Gualtero and Carmen Correa, joining these to the one already obtained by John Rodríguez.

The horizon looks even brighter with the results in precision and racket sports.

The national archery assured its presence in all the team finals (mixed and men) in the recurve and compound modalities, promising a new harvest of golds.

Likewise, squash entered two finals, the mixed doubles (Ronald Palomino – María Paula Tovar) and women’s teams (Laura Tovar – Lucía Bautista).

For its part, BMX Racing left a pleasant impression with the first places in the time trial for Valentina Muñoz and Juan José Velásquez, whose finals will be held the following day.

With the leadership solidly established, the Colombian delegation maintains high expectations for the coming days of competition.

The performance of the athletes in disciplines such as archery, squash and BMX, where disputes for gold are expected, predicts that the country will continue to strengthen its position in the medal table, ratifying its hegemony in these XX Bolivarian Games.
