The evidence provided by the Attorney General’s Office allowed different judges in Valle del Cauca to impose sentences ranging between 8.5 and 20 years in prison on people who committed crimes that affected the sexual integrity of 11 minors and 3 adult women.
Those convicted, according to their individual responsibilities, were found responsible for crimes such as: aggravated abusive carnal access with a minor under 14 years of age, aggravated violent sexual act, violent sexual act with a minor under 14 years of age, abusive sexual act with a minor under 14 years of age, demand for commercial sexual exploitation of a person under 18 years of age, abusive carnal access or sexual act with incapable of resisting and aggravated violent carnal access.
Rosembert Mauricio Cortés Lozano, 56, was sentenced to 15 years in prison because between August and September 2023 he subjected a 16-year-old minor to violent sexual acts, offered her money and a cell phone so that she could have intimate relations with him and send him intimate photos. The man was found responsible for the crimes of commercial sexual exploitation with a person under 18 years of age and violent sexual act.
Diego Alexander Pérez Plazas was sentenced to 12 years in prison for the crime of carnal access or abusive sexual act with inability to resist. The Prosecutor’s Office demonstrated that on July 21, 2023, the man sexually abused his former partner, while she was sleeping soundly, after having chatted with several people at a social gathering.
In another case, a man was sentenced to 19 years and 5 months in prison after the Prosecutor’s Office demonstrated that, for 9 years, he subjected his daughter to sexual abuse. The attacks occurred when the victim was 9 years old. Due to these events, the convicted person was found responsible for the crimes of violent sexual intercourse and sexual acts with a minor under 14 years of age, both of which were aggravated.
The others sentenced for different attacks are: Brallan David Velásquez Jiménez, Davinci Siachoque Beltrán, Nelson Tovar Parra, Yoel José Pérez Mota, Juan Camilo Ospina González, Juan Camilo Ceballos, Alexis Cuspoca Marín, Alejandro Alfonso Jansen Sierra, Segundo Isidro Godoy Angulo, Freddy Andrés Casamachín Santacruz, Jhon Jairo Mendoza Guzmán and José Iván Ambuila Montaño.
