The Talent School, a fundamental initiative of the Ministry of Sports in collaboration with the Colombian Olympic Committee (COC), concluded the year 2025 with an extremely positive balance in its objectives of identifying, training and projecting the nation’s future sports reserve.
Throughout the year, the program held a series of national meetings in various disciplines and regions of the country, consolidating its role as the main platform for development in the early stages of athletic training and expanding opportunities for boys and girls with potential throughout the territory.
The intensive training calendar was launched in September with athletics in Ibagué, where 126 young talents from different areas of Colombia participated in days focused on technical fundamentals, including running circuits, long jump, hurdles and throwing.
This immersion was complemented by attendance at the Under-14 and Under-16 National Championships, providing them with valuable competitive experience. Later, in October, Bogotá was the scene of the BMX Racing meeting, bringing together 71 athletes and their coaches.
In this discipline, training included competency modeling using the Trace system, an official measurement tool, which allowed precise evaluation of technical and tactical advances. The young people also had the inspiring support of leaders such as the Olympic medalist Carlos Ramírez.
The closing of the high-level training activities took place in November in Bogotá with the taekwondo meeting.
Talent School promotes Colombia’s sports reserve in 2025
For five days, 119 boys and girls from 11 departments underwent processes to evaluate and strengthen their motor skills.
A highlight of this concentration was the simulation of competition with an advanced electronic combat system, which had the support of the Colombian Taekwondo Federation and the participation of athletes from the Colombian National Team, serving as a model of excellence.
At the same time, specialized training spaces were offered aimed at coaches and departmental delegations.
Through the holding of these national meetings and the sustained work in the regions, the Talent School reaffirmed its crucial role in 2025 as the engine that nourishes the base of Colombian high performance.
The program not only focuses on technical and tactical strengthening, but also on the comprehensive training of budding athletes, ensuring that Colombia has a robust and well-prepared sports reserve for future cycles of international competition.
