The capture attempt occurred at 8:55 p.m. on Carrera 50A and Calle 57, in the central area of Guayaquil, after the deceased and his 21-year-old accomplice were traveling on a motorcycle with a modified license plate after having committed the theft.
Minutes earlier, the two individuals, carrying a reduced-lethality revolver that was seized from them, had intimidated and injured a 39-year-old citizen who was leaving his home in the Prado Centro sector. His N-Max motorcycle was stolen.

When they were intercepted by the Police, an exchange of shots took place in which both criminals were injured.
The alleged freighters were initially transferred to a clinic in the north of the city for medical attention. For his part, the victim of the robbery, who was injured with the traumatic weapon used by the criminals, was treated at a clinic in the center of Medellín.
The items seized during the procedure, including the reduced lethality firearm and the motorcycle used by the thieves, were left at the disposal of the Prosecutor’s Office.
Despite his death, the authorities continue with the investigation and prosecution of the accomplice, who is stable, for the crime of theft and illegal possession of a weapon.
