Colombia closed its participation in surfing at the XX Bolivarian Sports Games Ayacucho-Lima 2025 with a valuable silver medal, thanks to the outstanding performance of Margarita Conde in the Women’s Longboard modality.

The competition, held in the waves of the IPD’s CAR Punta Rocas, pitted Conde against some of the best surfers in the region, managing to secure a spot on the podium for the Colombian delegation.

Margarita Conde demonstrated her talent and consistency by beating the experienced Peruvian Carolina Thun in the decisive phase of Group 1.

With a score of 5.33 compared to her rival’s 4.00, the Colombian guaranteed her place in the gold medal match, automatically securing the silver medal for the country.

In the final held on November 30, Conde maintained a high competitive level. However, local surfer MarĂ­a Reyes confirmed Peru’s dominance in the discipline and won the gold medal.

Margarita Conde finished in second position, taking silver, while Carolina Thun (Peru) completed the podium with bronze.

With the closing of the surfing calendar, the Peruvian delegation consolidated itself as the undisputed leader, adding a total of seven gold medals.

Panama followed, with a gold medal. Thanks to the efforts of Margarita Conde, Colombia managed to place itself in the medal table of this sport with the silver medal.
