Moments of tension and disturbances were recorded in the municipality of Villa Rica, Cauca, after the death of a man in the middle of a police procedure, a fact that led to a strong alteration of public order, attacks against uniformed personnel and direct attacks on the infrastructure of the Immediate Attention Command (CAI) of the Police.
The situation broke out when a group of citizens rebuked a uniformed man, whom they verbally pointed out as allegedly responsible for the death of a man.
The recordings show how the tension increased and several citizens chased the agent for a few meters, hurling insults and threats at him, while he tried to take refuge in the CAI.
Two patrol boats that accompanied him were also exposed to attacks and, according to preliminary information, one of them was allegedly stripped of her weapon during the confrontations.

In the midst of the riots, several citizens attacked the police station, causing damage to doors, windows and walls, in addition to destroying security elements located at the entrance. Minutes later, detonations were recorded, presumably when a uniformed officer activated his weapon in the midst of the chaos, which increased panic among the inhabitants of the sector.
The Secretary of Government of Cauca, Maribel Perafán, confirmed that one person lost his life during the confrontation and that the Public Force deployed an operation to regain control.
Preliminarily, the authorities reported on a captured person, several injured people and an injured police officer, in addition to material damage to the CAI.
The facts are the subject of investigation by judicial agencies, while the institutional presence in the area is reinforced to avoid new altercations.
