The authorities announced the rescue of nine kidnapped people who remained in the power of the ‘Calarcá’ dissidents in the San Miguel village, rural area of ​​La Plata, Huila.

The action was led by the Rapid Deployment Force No. 5, together with the Army, the Police and the Gaula, and was specifically directed against the Isaias Pardo Block, Hernando González Acosta substructure.

According to official information, the victims, originally from Antioquia, had been detained since last October 17 after arriving in the region to explore a gold mine.

The families would have already paid $1.8 billion pesos compared to an initial demand of $5 billion to obtain their release.

The authorities indicated that the kidnapped people were chained to prevent any escape attempt.

During the operation, which extended through the mountainous area of ​​western Huila, the inter-institutional teams managed to capture two alleged members of the criminal organization. One of them, identified with the aliases “Richard” or “Cristo”, would be responsible for the motorbike bomb attack perpetrated on April 18 in the urban area of ​​La Plata. Additionally, a minor recruited by the same structure was recovered.

Two pistols, a long weapon, 7.62 and 5.56 caliber ammunition, five cell phones, four communication radios, pamphlets, notebooks with notes, an instruction booklet, tactical elements and several chains and padlocks used for the custody of the victims were also seized at the scene. All the material was made available to the judicial authorities.

This operation represents a decisive blow to the Hernando González Acosta substructure, which had increased kidnapping and extortion practices in the region.
