The National Infrastructure Agency (ANI) is advancing the work to adapt the La Lizama toll, located on the road that connects Bucaramanga with Barrancabermeja, after the infrastructure was destroyed following a motorcycle bomb attack, which occurred in the midst of the ELN armed strike.
The information was confirmed by the Secretary of the Interior of Santander, Óscar Hernández, after a meeting of the Unified Command Post (PMU) with the security agencies of the department, in which the public order situation and the actions carried out to mitigate the effects generated by the recent terrorist events were evaluated.
According to the official, the work carried out by the ANI would allow vehicular passage and the operation of the La Lizama toll, a strategic corridor for mobility and cargo transportation in the Magdalena Medio region, to be enabled again this Thursday, December 18.

The Secretary of the Interior also indicated that the reinforcement of the force and the strengthening of security controls in the area were requested, measures that have the constant support of the institutional PMU, with the objective of guaranteeing the safety of road users and the surrounding communities.
Finally, the official highlighted that judicial investigations by the Attorney General’s Office are advancing, which would have a favorable outlook in clarifying the attack that affected mobility and road infrastructure in the department of Santander.
