Minute30.com .- The Attorney General’s Office opened a preliminary investigation against Minister Armando Benedetti to explain the alleged irregularities in the exchange of properties with businessman Ricardo Leyva. The process seeks to establish whether the official committed any crime in this asset scheme.
The Alleged “Carousel” of Goods
The investigation focuses on an apparent “carousel” of property transfers between the two. Currently, Minister Benedetti’s family resides in a luxury home in the exclusive sector of Lagos de Caujaral, in Puerto Colombia, which would be owned by businessman Ricardo Leyva. In turn, Leyva lives in an apartment in the Iluminatta building, north of Barranquilla, which was acquired by Benedetti for $1,860 million pesos with financing from the National Savings Fund.
Millionaire contract under the magnifying glass
The Prosecutor’s Office intends to establish if there is any relationship between this exchange of properties and a million-dollar contract that Ricardo Leyva obtained through RTVC (Public Media System). Said contract, for more than $7.9 billion pesos, was allocated to the organization of a cultural event within the framework of the CELAC Summit.
