The Bogotá Metropolitan Police intensified the search for those responsible for the homicide in Kennedy that occurred on November 11, 2025, after publishing the poster of the three most wanted men for this crime that shocked the capital.

According to the investigation led by the Criminal Investigation Section (Sijín) and the Attorney General’s Office, the incident occurred after a road incident between a driver and several motorcyclists in the Tabacú neighborhood, in the town of Kennedy. After the altercation, the man was intercepted by a group of people who surrounded him and violently attacked him.

According to the official report, the attackers used blunt objects such as sticks, chains and stones, not only to hit the victim, but also to cause serious damage to the vehicle in which he was traveling.

Although the man was helped by the authorities and taken alive to a care center, he died hours later due to the severity of his injuries.

The victim was identified as Mauricio, 39 years old, from Icononzo, Tolima. Relatives of the man indicated that he was going through a mental health crisis at the time of the events, a version that is also being evaluated within the investigative process.

Colonel Álvaro Mora, spokesperson for the Bogotá Metropolitan Police, explained that the progress of the case was possible thanks to the analysis of more than 40 hours of recordings from security cameras in the sector.

The case is part of the “Security, Dignity and Democracy” strategy, with which the authorities seek to combat acts of serious violence and prevent further acts of vigilante justice in the city.

The Police reiterated that no citizen can assume authority functions, even in the midst of tense situations or traffic altercations.

Finally, the authorities insisted that timely reporting is key to clarifying this type of crimes and reiterated the call to report any criminal act to the 123 emergency line.
