Units of the Bogotá Metropolitan Police reported the seizure of a truck that was loaded with a batch of war material and explosives, which generated an alert in the town of Puente Aranda.

The discovery and capture of two people occurred in a parking lot in the Ejidos neighborhood.

Lieutenant Colonel Sergio Bayona, operational commander of Citizen Security No. 4, indicated that the presence of the car was noticed during a routine operation.

The two people who were in the truck tried to evade the search and control when they noticed the police presence.

  • After verifying the vehicle, the uniformed officers found an arsenal that includes:
  • Elements for the exclusive use of the Military Forces, including Army uniforms.
  • Two pistol-type firearms, ammunition, a silencer and eight rifle holders.
  • A communication radio.
  • 195 electric capsules for explosives.

When requesting documentation proving the legality of the items, the occupants stated that they did not possess it. For this reason, the two men were captured and, along with the immobilized vehicle and the seized items, were placed at the disposal of the competent authority.
